Home Group/Study Questions
These questions are provided for your further study and application of today’s sermon. Thoughtfully writing out the answers to these questions will help to drive home the truths we are learning.

1. Was there any passage of scripture or statement in the message today that was particularly meaningful or applicable to you?

2. Read John 1:14. Consider what it must have been like for Christ to leave the comfort and glory of heaven to be born on this earth ad live among us. In what way does our appreciation for Jesus’ sacrifice grow when you think on the implication of the incarnation?

3. Read Hebrews 2:14-18. In this beautiful passage describing Jesus, what did He accomplish in His incarnation, and what are the blessings for us because of His victory?

4. Think on the following quote from John MacArthur:
The wonder is that the Maker of man became man, that He, the ruler of the stars, might be nourished at the breast; that He, the Bread, might hunger; that He, the Fountain, might thirst; that He, the Light, might sleep; that He, the Way, might grow weary on the journey; that He, the Truth, might be accused by false witnesses; that He, the Judge of the living and the dead, might be tried by a mortal judge; that He, Justice itself, might be condemned by the unjust; that He, Discipline personified, might be scourged with a whip; that He, the Foundation, might be suspended on a cross; that He, Courage incarnate, might be weak; that He, Security itself, might be wounded; and that He, Life itself, might die.

5. In the midst of the confusion and bustle of Christmas, how can you and your family stay grounded in the hope that comes from the presence of Christ, Emmanuel, God with us?

Giving Online

Giving cheerfully and sacrificially of our finances is part of our worship. (2 Corinthians 9:7; Proverbs 3:9; Malachi 3:10) We thank those who have helped us fulfill our mission and vision, and we ask you to pray that all of the giving to West End Baptist Church would be used to glorify God in carrying out His will as Scripture instructs and the Holy Spirit leads.
