The Throne of His Father - Phil Kendon
We are starting our “All Hail King Jesus” Christmas Series this week, as we count down the days to the celebration of the Saviour’s birth. This message is titled, “The Throne of His Father,” which comes from the words spoken by the angel Gabriel to the young virgin Mary who was about to conceive. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father, David - speaking of his genealogy which can be traced back to the royal line of David. But there is also a play on words there to some extent because he is also coming into the throne of his Father in heaven - the throne of his forefathers here on earth and the throne of his heavenly Father who sent him into the world.

Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.
- Jesus is not only king in name – he has subjects.
- In honour of King Jesus – we should willingly give him our lives.
