The Text in Context
1. Eyewitnesses
2. The Magi
3. What were the Magi seeking?
4. What are you seeking?
5. Jesus' birth.
1. Take time to reflect on what it is you're seeking in this life.
2. Lift that desire to God in prayer.
3. Keep your eyes open to how Jesus may provide what you're seeking.
1. Foreigners from the East, the Magi followed a star that led them to Jesus. Does God still use signs in guiding people to Himself? If not, why not? If so, how can we recognize and respond to signs in our own lives?
2. What do you think the Magi were seeking as they set out to follow the star?
3. King Herod reacted with fear and hostility, while the Magi responded with worship and joy. What do these contrasting responses reveal about people's reactions to Jesus today? Why might some people feel threatened by Jesus, while others feel drawn to worship Him?
4. The Magi brought gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. What do these gifts represent about Jesus’ identity and mission? What kind of gifts can we offer to honor Jesus, today?
5. The Magi were warned in a dream not to return to Herod. How does this story demonstrate God’s guidance and protection? Have you ever experienced God’s protection and/or direction in unexpected ways? If so, how?
6. What are you seeking? How might Jesus provide what it is your seeking?

One way our church family celebrates the holy season is through our special Heart of Christmas offering. This year, The Heart of Christmas offering will be divided between four important ministries that make a difference all year long— IMPACT, James Storehouse, the Samaritan Center, and Sarah's House. Please use the special Christmas envelope in your bulletin. For more information on each of these ministries, please click below.
