Matthew 7:1-6
Matthew 5:7 “God blesses those who are merciful, for they will be shown mercy.”
6:12 “…and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us.”
Living Christlike with others means…

-we don’t trap ourselves in judgmental attitudes towards others in Christ
For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”

Jesus is uses backdrop of wood working to make point:
Sawdust = “a speck”
Plank = “in your own eye”
Hypocrite = “let me”
First = “take out the plank”
-we guard against gullibility about others who are hostile to Christ
“Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs…”
sacred =
dogs =
pigs =

Don’t keep sharing the Good News with those who mock it, or get hostile with you about it.

Kingdom life with Christ allows us to escape the trap of judgmental attitudes toward other believers, as well as guard against any gullibility about people in this world, but also to know the joy of seeing the Gospel at work in lives.
