10 Differences of New Age and Christianity
1. New Age glorifies SELF; Christianity glorifies God, 1 Cor 10:31.
1. New Age glorifies SELF; Christianity glorifies God, 1 Cor 10:31.
2. New Age says: “FOLLOW your heart and do whatever makes you happy.” Christianity says: “Follow and obey Jesus, for the heart is deceitful,” Jer 17:9.
3. New Age turns to SPIRIT guides, the universe, and astrology for help; Christianity only follows the Holy Trinity, Matt 28:19.
4. New Age tries to PREDICT and control the future; Christianity trusts God with the future, Prov 3:5-6.
5. New Age says there is no SIN, hell, devil, or demons; Christianity believes Jesus’ teachings about sin, hell, devil, and demons in the Holy Bible, Eph 6:11-12; Matt 13:37-43.
6. New Age RELIES upon books by so-called spiritual mediums, cards, and psychic readings for guidance; Christianity relies upon prayer and the Bible, Phil 4:6; 2 Tim 3:16-17.
7. New Age says JESUS did not come to die for our sins, but to simply show us the way like many other spiritual leaders, that He came to help us embrace our own enlightenment and cosmic conscience; Christianity says that Jesus was fully God and fully man during His earthly ministry, and He’s now at the right-hand of our Heavenly Father God, as the 2nd member of the Holy Trinity. We will all stand before God on judgment day, and we want Jesus there with us to attest that we’ve been forgiven for our sins, Heb 10:12-13.
8. New Age says you get into HEAVEN by “being a good person;” Christianity says it’s not your works that save you – it’s God’s grace through faith in the life, death and resurrection of our Savior Jesus (who was the only sinless person to walk the earth), Eph 2:8-9.
9. New Age tries to EXHIBIT their wants and desires; Christianity trusts God’s promise to meet the needs of believers, 2 Peter 1:3-4.
10. New Age says there are many PATHS to God; Christianity quotes Jesus’ own words: “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me,” John 14:6.
Why Should We Be Concerned about the New Age Movement? We’re dealing with a philosophy which is in vogue in our culture and it’s being spread in our schools, colleges, arts, cinema, TV, music and government.
