Fourth Watch

Fourth Watch

The Fourth Watch of the night comes from ancient Roman practices of dividing the watch periods into four, three-hour periods. It has come to have significance both in its literal period of the hours just before dawn and in the figurative sense of the final period of some situation, event, or other finite time span.

ROMAN WATCHES
1. First Watch: 6 PM to 9 PM
2. Second Watch: 9 PM to 12 AM
3. Third Watch: 12 AM to 3 AM
4. Fourth Watch: 3 AM to 6 AM
The Big Idea: A Fourth Watch Salvation is Still Salvation!
"However, it is a dangerous gamble for one to deliberately wait until the end of life to settle things with Jesus Christ. None of us knows when we may die; for thousands, sudden death occurs each day. But more important even than the foolishness of delaying salvation is the fact we are losing the joy of being a Christian."
--Billy Graham
Plan of Salvation
1. Recognize the Problem: Sin
Romans 3:23
2. Understand the Consequences: Separation from God
Romans 6:23
3. Accept God’s Solution: Jesus Christ
John 3:16, Romans 5:8
4. Respond with Faith: Trust and Believe in Jesus
Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 10:9
5. Commit to Following Jesus: Live for Him Daily
2 Corinthians 5:1, Galatians 2:20
