Ephesians 6:10-12 (ESV)
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

The Christian life is warfare.
A committed Christian and the forces of darkness are on an inevitable collision course.
Attacks of the Enemy:
1. Undermine God’s character and trustworthiness
2. Make the Christian life hard
3. Make the Christian life easy
4. Confuse with false doctrine
5. Inhibit our ministries
6. Divide the body
7. Encourage self-reliance
8. Push worldly conformity

We must focus on how we are living, rather than on what the enemy is doing.
Ephesians 6:13-14
Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. 14 Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth.
Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. 14 Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth.
The foundational component of the armor of God is the belt of truth.
The belt of truth holds the armor of God together.
To resist the lies, you must be grounded in the truth.
The belt of truth is the posture of the Christian to know, love, seek, and obey the truth.
John 8:31-32
So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, 32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, 32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
The belt of truth has a buckle, and it’s the Word of God.
John 14:6
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
Success in the battle = surrender to the King
John 18:37-38
Then Pilate said to him, “So you are a king?” Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world—to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.” 38 Pilate said to him, “What is truth?” After he had said this, he went back outside to the Jews and told them, “I find no guilt in him.”
