God's love is the model for how we should love others, which means being patient, kind, not envious or boastful, and not insisting on one's own way.
Love is a commitment to helping others thrive, and it doesn't need to be reciprocated to be true.
Jesus' interaction with a scribe shows that love involves vulnerability, respect, and a willingness to learn from opponents.
By choosing love over revenge and divisiveness, we can heal and transform both ourselves and our communities.
