God's Grace for All Seasons

God's Grace for All Seasons

Finding Faith and Trust in Every Chapter of Life Life is a journey marked by different seasons—some joyful, some challenging—but in every season, God’s grace is constant. Ecclesiastes 3:1 reminds us that "for everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven." As we gather for this homecoming service, it’s a time to reflect on God’s unchanging faithfulness and grace that has been with us through every chapter of our lives and the life of our church. Whether you’re in a season of celebration or a season of waiting, God’s timing and grace remain perfect and sufficient. This message invites you to consider the season you’re currently in. Are you facing a period of growth, or perhaps a season of healing and restoration? Regardless of where you find yourself, God is at work, weaving together the threads of our lives for His glory and our good. As we explore the themes of trusting God’s sovereignty, living with eternity in view, and embracing each chapter of our journey, let’s be reminded of the testimonies of His faithfulness in the past and encouraged to lean on His grace for the future. Through it all, we find hope in knowing that God’s grace is more than enough for every season.

2024 Home Coming

Today, I want to encourage you to trust in God’s timing and grace, regardless of the season you may find yourself in.
Recognizing the Seasons of Life
Solomon reminds us that life is full of changing seasons, both good and bad. Each season has a purpose in God’s plan.

1. Just about the time you get comfortable where you are, seasons are going to change.

2. Not all the seasons will be bad.

3. All seasons are ordained by God, and all seasons, good and bad, are different none the less.
Today, identify the season you are in personally.
1. Are you in a dry season?
2. Do you feel the heat and pressure of life?
3. Are you in a season of planting, waiting, or harvesting? Of mourning or celebration?
Trusting in God’s Sovereignty
God’s timing is perfect, even if we do not always understand it. He sees the bigger picture and is sovereign over every season.
Encourage the congregation to trust in God’s timing, even when it seems difficult or uncertain. Remind them that God is at work in ways we cannot see.
Joseph was someone who trusted God’s timing despite the changes in his circumstances.

Living with Eternity in View
While we live through changing seasons on earth, our ultimate hope is in the eternal life promised through Christ.
Today we need to find and maintain an eternal perspective
1.Keep your focus on Christ
2.His Word
3.And His promises

Instead of focusing on being overwhelmed by temporary struggles.

As we start the fall season, be assured that the Winter is coming. But the blessing is the new beginning that Spring promises.

Tithe and Offering

2 Corinthians 9:7 KJVEvery man according as he purposeth in his heart, [so let him give]; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. God's people have always been characterized by giving, but the way they've given has changed over time.  Giving is an important aspect of the Christian life. After all, Luke records that Jesus himself said, "It is more blessed to give than to receive" (Acts 20:35).  At Northside, we want to encourage all members to pray about giving and give as God leads them.
