Know your enemy: What are demons anyway?

They are fallen angels.

As fallen angels, they are spirit beings who have the ability to affect us on physical, emotional, and spiritual levels.

Some demons are more evil than others.

We open doors to devils in 2 primary ways through involuntary and voluntary actions.

Involuntary actions that open us to demonization:
Failure to put on and wear the full armor of God.

Failure to pray for Divine protection.

Idolatry

An idol is anything you place your hope in above the Lord. This can take on many forms including greed, and even the
fear of man.

Voluntary actions that open us up to demonization:
Willful unrepentant sin.

Voluntary actions that open us up to demonization:
Believing demonic lies or heresy.

Voluntary actions that open us up to demonization:
Taking inner vows or oaths.

Inner vows or oaths are ungodly or unbiblical views we embrace, often as a result of trauma or loss, that create a barrier between us and God.

Involuntary actions that open us up to demonization:
Failure to resist the devil.

How do we resist the devil?

- Submit to God.
Give your life to Jesus and keep saying yes!

- Be sober.
Lacking sobriety weakens us to the enemies lies making us more vulnerable to deception and attack.

- Be vigilant.
Be careful, be watchful, listen to the Holy Spirit!

God's Spirit will never guide you where His Word prohibits you to go.

- Take courage.
Run to the Roar!

Satan is not compelled to flee if we don't resist him.

We resist him when we confront the life, temptation, or fear.

We resist him when we call on other believers to fight with us.

We resist him when we pray for God's blessing over our homes.

We resist him when we trust God's Word.

We resist him when we command the evil spirit to leave in the name of Jesus.

The good news is Jesus has already secured our victory!
