A Transformed Sacrifice

A Transformed Sacrifice

What does it look like practically to live out our faith in Christ? Having explored Gospel Foundations (Romans 1-4), Gospel Fruit (5-8), and Gospel Faithfulness (9-11), Paul makes a radical shift as he draws his letter to a close. The first 11 chapters were full of indicatives (statements of truth) about us, God, and how Christ restores our broken relationship with God. But from chapter 12 onward, the letter shifts to imperatives (commands) about how to live a life that's flourishing in the goodness of this gospel truth. Join in as we consider what Gospel Flourishing looks like and how we can engage it well.

Beyond Sunday

Growing with Jesus isn’t just for Sundays. Make it an everyday, everywhere, with everyone mission by going “beyond Sunday”!

Engage in these resources on your own and with your Grow Group*, family, or a friend:

Grow
• Learn more about being a “living sacrifice” by reading this article: npberean.org/beyond8
• Rewrite Romans 12:1-2 as a prayer, asking God to help you be transformed. Pray this daily.

Share
• What is one tangible way you can offer yourself back to God this week as a grateful response for Christ’s sacrifice?
• As you listen to “I Surrender All” (npberean.org/beyond9) ask God to reveal where you’ve been conforming. Surrender this to him in prayer.

Connect
• How does genuine transformation differ from just following the rules? (doing the right things)
• In what ways are we simply conforming to the world’s system? How can we instead pursue transformation in these areas together?
• Explore Romans12:3-8 together to prepare for next week’s sermon.

* Connecting in community with other believers is crucial for spiritual growth. Explore group options at npberean.org/gg

Next Week's Sermon

As we continue to hear the commands of Paul (and hopefully respond in obedience), we'll consider how every believer has been brought into Christ's body (he's the head) and, as such, we all have a role to play in the healthy functioning and growth of the body.
