This is Paul’s personal testimony of the strength he was walking in.
The sufficiency of Christ that Paul experienced enabled him to have a strong heart of contentment.
Paul is not saying that he can do all things through Christ, but rather that he can prevail or have victory over any circumstance by relying on Christ and his strength.
Our capacity for survival and achievement in Jesus is truly amazing!
How was Paul able to be content in whatever situation he was in? Paul’s victory didn’t come through his strength. His secret was he didn’t do it, but Christ did it through him. Which means it’s a secret available to all believers. Paul’s victory came through his relationship with Christ.
