In Step (Week 2)
This is a series on Christian living. There are many counterfeits in our world today. Get on social media and within a few minutes you will pass some AI picture that likely someone is trying to pass off as real. If we don't know truth we will struggle with distinguishing a lie. John 8:30-32 30 As he was saying these things, many believed in him. 31 Then Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you continue in my word,[c] you really are my disciples. 32 You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” The truth has the power set you free. Jesus said that "I am the Way the Truth and the Life". True Christian living requires the sincere desire to follow the word and for us to be disciples.

Love is a big topic! Our world has skewed what we know love to be. When we think of "oh I love you" we often relate it to passion rather than to real love that is the love expressed by God. So rather than boiling love down and just having a few points on this, I felt this is important enough to focus on this one fruit for this sermon.
Eros
“Eros” is the Greek word that is used to describe the romantic love between a man and a woman. Though the word itself is not in the Bible, examples of God-given romantic love are everywhere. So while we see examples of this in the Bible, this word is not used to describe the love we measure ourselves by.
Philostorgos
This word is translated as “brotherly love” and describes the bonds of love that bind family members together. This is the Greek word used to describe the natural, overflowing love that family members have for one another. While the word itself is not found in Scripture, variations of it are.
Philia
“Philia” is the Greek word used to describe deep, meaningful friendships. This goes much deeper than simply acquaintances. “Philia” love binds two people together and holds them through thick and thin. “Philia” friends are faithful, staying close to you in your best moments and your worst.
Agape
“Agape” is the Greek word for sacrificial, self-giving love that is primarily concerned with the good of someone else. Agape love is much more than a feeling, although feelings are certainly part of it. Agape love is demonstrated through actions.
