Which kind of marriage have you experienced – Genesis 2 or Genesis 3?

“Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.”

“You will want to control your husband, but he, in turn, will dominate you.”

How do I get from Genesis 3 to Genesis 2 in my marriage?

How did/does Jesus love His bride?

-He initiated the relationship.
-He didn’t die because of His own wrongs, He died for ours.
-He gives grace when we fail.
-He is preparing a place for us to be with Him forever.
-He continually prays for us.
-He corrects us when we give ourselves to sin.

How does the church submit to Christ?

-She responds to His love by loving Him back.
-She responds to His leadership by following Him.
-She follows by giving herself to the Great Commission.
-She gives herself to God’s Kingdom work, with the help of the Holy Spirit.
-She continually fails and receives grace.

How does God expect me to make my wife holy?

The way Jesus made His bride holy is by dying for her.

Marriage is supposed to be a safe place where a spouse can let their guard down, drop their protective walls, and find acceptance in spite of their flaws.

What am I supposed to do when my pain is coming from my wife?

God calls me to lay my life down for my wife, even when it’s her own actions that are causing me pain.
