claimed to be the "Son of God"
2. Barabbas was guilty, yet is set free
3. Jesus has no guilt, yet is given the death penalty
4. The Jews pledge allegiance to a foreign king,
while the foreign gentiles recognize Jesus as the
King of the Jews
5. Jesus turns out to be the judge, not Pilate

The Passover

The Day of Atonement

He was oppressed, and he was afflicted,
yet he opened not his mouth;
like a lamb that is led to the slaughter,
and like a sheep that before its shearers is silent,
so he opened not his mouth….
although he had done no violence,
and there was no deceit in his mouth.

The one with all authority and no guilt atoned for our sins by his blood to make holy the ones who repent and believe.
