When we commit to the Jesus stuff, we will do GREATER WORKS.
Everywhere I go I find that God's people lack something, they are hungry for something, their Christian experience is not all that they expected and they often have reoccurring defeat in their lives.
Christians today are hungry for Spiritual fulfillment the most desperate need of the nation today is men and women who profess Jesus be filled with the Holy Spirit. - Billy Graham
Sometimes our greatest tragedies become someone else’s greatest witness of Jesus.
Failure occurs when we are disobedient, not when our obedience doesn’t produce the results we thought would happen.
“When we ask God for healing, are we just asking God to take away our boo boos or are we asking God to completely heal all the things we see and can’t see. Sometimes God’s answer brings a deeper healing then we knew we needed.” -Becky King
GOD IS GOOD AND HE LOVES TO HEAL!
1. Fear
“When fear shapes our life, safety becomes our God. And when safety becomes our God we worship the risk–free life.” He then goes on to say, “The fear–filled cannot love deeply because love is risky. They cannot give to the poor because benevolence has no guarantee of return. The fear–filled cannot dream wildly. What if their dreams sputter and fall from the sky? The worship of safety emasculates greatness. No wonder Jesus wages such a war against fear!” - Max Lucado
Expectant prayer petitions a merciful God for something we don’t deserve but we know that God delights to give. Expectant prayer flows from a belief that God is good and Loves to give great gifts to his followers.
Never let an emotional response to a situation, dictate your expectations of what God can do.
2. Busyness
So many of us are wrapped up in what we have to do, that we forget who we are called to be!
To SEE the Jesus stuff, we have to DO the Jesus stuff.
What should our expectations be of the healing ministry of Jesus today?
The ministry of Healing is ordinary and normative and it should be practiced as disciples of Jesus here and now, But it doesn’t always take place.
Our emotional response to how and when Jesus decides to heal someone shouldn’t dictate our excitement to pray for healing.
GOD IS FAITHFUL!
