9 “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.
μακάριοι οἱ εἰρηνοποιοί ὅτι αὐτοὶ υἱοὶ θεοῦ κληθήσονται.
"Sons of God, Children of God." That is a great title.

What does sons of God mean?
After all, were told Jesus is the only begotten son.
τὸν υἱὸν τὸν μονογενῆ ἔδωκεν- He gave his one and only begotten son
υἱοὶ θεοῦ κληθήσονται- they shall be called sons of God.
To be called “son of” refers to character and not just relationship.
In the case of Jesus, He has the same essence as God the Father. He has the unique relationship and character that unites him with God the Father.
In our case, it refers to our character being aligned with God's.
The son of a thief meant he acted or will act like a thief. To be called the son or child of God meant that one acted in a manner God would.

God desires for us to seek purity in the depths of our hearts.

We are to be peacemakers in a fragmented world.
It is hard to be a peacemaker in a hostile world.
18 For this reason therefore the Jews were seeking all the more to kill Him John 5:18a

To be a peacemaker is to reflect the image and likeness of God.
If we are to be a good priest, sovereign or steward of creation, how can we do it with peace?
When we make peace, others will appreciate our God the Father.
