Home Group/Study Questions
These questions are provided for your further study and application of today’s sermon. Thoughtfully writing out the answers to these questions will help to drive home the truths we are learning.
1. Was there any passage of scripture or statement in the message today that was particularly meaningful or applicable to you?
2. The promise of answered prayer in vs.7 seems almost too good to be true! Clearly, this is not a blank check. What are the prerequisites in vs. 7? Read Matthew 6:9-10. Do you agree with the statement, “All legitimate prayer starts with the recognition of God’s name (His perfect Person); God’s will (His glorious Purpose); and His kingdom (His unfolding plan)? How can we ensure we are praying this way?
3. Take a moment to look back over the summer. Share (or write) of a time, or times, when your fruitfulness was evident. (You loved beyond your ability, you were filled with joy in the middle of trials, you were patient, or kind, or good when the situation called for anger, frustration, or vengeance). Thank God for the confidence that comes from seeing His life in you.
4. We tend to take God’s love for granted. What does it mean to abide in Jesus’ love for us?
5. Life in Christ is joyful. When I am abiding in Him, (worshiping, repenting, resting, obeying, trusting, etc.) I am joyful. Rejoicing. Christianity is not all about rules and rigidity and deprivation. It’s about Jesus abiding in you, and you in Him. What is the difference between joy and happiness? How can you be filled with joy?

Giving Online
Giving cheerfully and sacrificially of our finances is part of our worship. (2 Corinthians 9:7; Proverbs 3:9; Malachi 3:10)
We thank those who have helped us fulfill our mission and vision, and we ask you to pray that all of the giving to West End Baptist Church would be used to glorify God in carrying out His will as Scripture instructs and the Holy Spirit leads.
