Guilt, II Corinthians 7:8-10
Psalm 38:3,4, …There is no health in my bones because of my sin. 4 For my iniquities have gone over my head; like a heavy burden, they are too heavy for me.
II Corinthians 7:8, For even if I made you grieve with my letter, I do not regret it—though I did regret it, for I see that that letter grieved you, though only for a while.
II Corinthians 7:9, As it is, I rejoice, not because you were grieved, but because you were grieved into repenting. For you felt a godly grief, so that you suffered no loss through us.
II Corinthians 7:10, For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death.
“[As an atheist] my argument against God was that the universe seemed so cruel and unjust. But how had I got this idea of just and unjust? A man does not call a line crooked unless he has some idea of a straight line.”
- C.S. Lewis
Romans 2:15,16, They show that the work of the law is written on their hearts, while their conscience also bears witness, and their conflicting thoughts accuse or even excuse them 16 on that day when, according to my gospel, God judges the secrets of men by Christ Jesus.
“For anyone who is alone, without God and without a master, the weight of days is dreadful.”
- Albert Camus
I Timothy 4:1-3, Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, 2 through the insincerity of liars whose consciences are seared, 3 who forbid marriage and require abstinence from foods that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.
I Timothy 4:4,5, For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, 5 for it is made holy by the word of God and prayer.
II Corinthians 5:21, For our sake he (The Father) made him (The Son) to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

1. Accept God’s forgiveness.
I John 1:9, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Psalm 103:12, …As far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us.
2. Let the past be the past.
Hebrews 6:1,2, Therefore let us leave the elementary doctrine of Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, 2 and of instruction about washings, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.
3. Learn to say no.
II Timothy 2:4, No soldier gets entangled in civilian pursuits, since his aim is to please the one who enlisted him.
4. Manage the tension of human limitation.
We can’t always eliminate temptation, but we can always escape temptation before it defeats us.
I Corinthians 10:13, No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
5. Enjoy freedom in Christ.
Galatians 5:13, For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
Galatians 5:15, But if you bite and devour one another, watch out that you are not consumed by one another.
6. Embrace God as Father.
Matthew 7:11, If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!
Luke 11:13, “If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”
I John 1:9, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
