Imitate

This is a word that means to copy someone so carefully that you could almost be a reflection of them in a mirror. The real challenge behind Paul's command is that we are to be striving to have our entire person be a reflection of Christ. And the Bible is our "mirror" - to see if we do indeed look like Christ.

Abide in Christ

In this passage we see John tell us that if we claim to “ABIDE IN CHRIST” - which is another way of saying that you claim to be a Christian or a follower of Christ - his expectation is that we “ought to walk in the same way that Christ walked.” John’s expectation for us as Christ-followers is that we will in fact desire to follow in the direction that the footsteps of Christ’s life led him.
