Connection Group Homework:
Looking back at your notes, was there anything that particularly caught your attention, challenged, or confused you?

The Ephesians did a lot of things well, but they lacked love. Why do you think it’s common for Christians to think it’s okay to not be as loving as we should be if we have good deeds or other things to be proud of?

In John 13:1-5, Jesus washed His betrayer Judas’ feet as an example of love. If you’re honest with yourself, do you think you could wash the feet of someone who betrayed you?

Thinking of someone who is hard for you to love, what are some ways you could “wash their feet” or treat them as more important than you?

Read 1 John 4:7-12: Based on these verses, what is the biblical meaning of love?

God showed His love for us by sending His Son to be the sacrifice for our sins. What insight does this give us into how God expects us to show love to others?

In Revelation 2:7, Jesus calls us to hear and obey His warning to the church at Ephesus. What is the reward for those who hear and obey Him? How does this reward change the way you live today?

Find a way to put the kind of love Jesus is looking for into action this week—to treat someone differently, serve someone, or show mercy to an enemy. In the next week, share with your group what that was and how it went.
