Home Group/Study Questions
These questions are provided for your further study and application of today’s sermon. Thoughtfully writing out the answers to these questions will help to drive home the truths we are learning.
1. Was there any passage of scripture or statement in the message today that was particularly meaningful or applicable to you?
2. As uncomfortable as self-evaluation can be, it is essential. Having seen some of the fruit of having Jesus in us, how fruitful are you? How much do you depend on Jesus for your attitudes, for your words, and for your actions? Which area of fruitfulness do you most struggle with?
3. Everything good that flows into and out of a believer’s life finds its origin in worship. Read Psalm 145 several times to make sure you understand the text. Now pray Psalm 145 and let vs. 21 be your commitment to God.
4. Read 1 John 1:8 – 2:6. How hard is it to keep clean? To keep your house or your car clean (and I’d rather you not come look at my office, thank you)? Now, living in a world that loves sin, having a body that has sinful appetites, and having an enemy that works to draw us away from all that is good, how hard is it to keep clean before God? What does a lifestyle of repentance look like? What does John mean when He says we have an advocate who is the propitiation for our sins?
5. Read Galatians 5:22-23. The fruit of the Spirit is contrasted with the “works of the flesh” (vs. 18). That’s essential to understand lest we try to produce these attitudes apart from the Holy Spirit who lives in us. How does the Spirit produce these attitudes in us? (vv. 24-25).
6. Christians behave (act) righteously. Read Philippians 1:9-11. What is the “fruit of righteousness” and how is it produced in our lives?

Giving Online
Giving cheerfully and sacrificially of our finances is part of our worship. (2 Corinthians 9:7; Proverbs 3:9; Malachi 3:10)
We thank those who have helped us fulfill our mission and vision, and we ask you to pray that all of the giving to West End Baptist Church would be used to glorify God in carrying out His will as Scripture instructs and the Holy Spirit leads.
