Locations & Times
1000 S Main St, Alta, IA 51002, USA
Sunday 8:30 AM
Sunday 10:00 AM
Coming to terms with the wrath of God:
1. The HUMBLE PRAISES of God's REDEEMED PEOPLE (v 1-4)
1. The HUMBLE PRAISES of God's REDEEMED PEOPLE (v 1-4)
2. The FINAL PLAGUES from God's HOLY PRESENCE (v 5-8)
Applying God’s Word through 1:10 Journey groups, family devotions, or personal meditation:
Opener
1. Do you enjoy singing as an act of worship? Are you good at singing?
Recap
2. Read Revelation 15. What stood out to you as challenging, encouraging or confusing from this week’s passage or sermon?
3. Why is the song of those who conquered called the “Song of Moses”? (see Exo 14-15)
4. Consider this quote from J.I. Packer: “Would a God who did not react adversely to evil in His world be morally perfect? Surely not. But it is precisely this adverse reaction to evil, which is a necessary part of moral perfection, that the Bible has in view when it speaks of God’s wrath.” How does this quote influence your view on God’s wrath? How is God’s just righteous wrath different from human wrath?
5. Why is it important to note that these last plagues of judgment come from straight from God’s presence, and not simply an impersonal cause and effect consequence?
Digging Deeper – Read Romans 3:23-26; 5:8-9.
6. What does it mean to be justified? What is redemption? Why do these terms matter?
7. After spending time in Revelation discussing God’s judgment, do you understand or appreciate these gospel verses in a new way? Explain.
Application
8. What great and mighty deeds has God done in your life for which you can praise Him?
9. Share something you learned from your personal Bible reding this week.
