“I’m not for the left wing or the right wing, I’m for the whole bird.”

GUIDING PRINCIPLE: We believe it’s actually possible for us to disagree politically and still love unconditionally.
GUIDING QUESTION: As followers of Jesus, how should we think about, participate in, and respond to the incredibly complicated political climate we find ourselves in?

Unite around the person of Jesus instead of a political candidate.
When politics starts to become a religion, the candidates become like saviors, campaigning replaces evangelism, rallies start to feel like worship services, and elections start to feel like salvation or damnation. Our hearts should be tied more to who’s on the throne than in the White House.

demonize those I disagree with or who disagree with me. (James
3:9-10)
3. I will use social media to reflect Jesus first, my opinion second.
(Colossians 4:5-6)
4. I will filter political participation through my love for God and my
love for my neighbor. (Mark 12:29-31)
5. No matter the outcome of the election, I will trust God with the
future. (Ephesians 1:9-10)
6. I recognize that, in our church and in my world, I can love
people; they can love God; and, we can vote differently.
