The practice of self-examination is vital for a follower of Jesus
Paul’s words in verse 15 Paul a calls his readers to a maturity in faith. Paul is urging believers to embrace a mindset of continual growth and progress in their spiritual walk.
Do you know that your actions reflect the spiritual change and progress you should achieve?
We need examples.
We need encouragers.
We need those who can hold us accountable.
We need encouragers.
We need those who can hold us accountable.
How can you actively seek out godly examples to help you in your walk with Christ?
We need to prioritize our spiritual values over earthly things
Verse 20 reminds us of our heavenly citizenship; we must remember our citizenship is of God's Kingdom, and this should change and shape our perspective and priorities in a world consumed by things not of God.
Eternity with us hope and perseverance in the face of trials.
As we apply this truth to our modern lives we need to remember the call to pursue spiritual maturity and live authentically in our faith and seek godly examples. We must resist spiritual temptations and put our hope in other things besides the promise of Jesus.
This involves setting our minds on things above, pursuing righteousness and holiness, and seeking to grow closer to God each day.
