3 - blessed us with all - nothing is left out!

4 - Chose us - this was an ordered plan put in place by God’s love and favor.
* In Him - all of the blessings of who He is, are available to us.
* In Him - our function and meaning in life is designed to be lived out through Him.

4- Before the foundation of the world - Before the origination of the seen world!
* In Him - God’s plan is not an after-thought based on sin.

- be holy without blame - separated, guiltless, and sacred; set apart, sharing in God’s purity.
* In Him - we don’t need depend on our own ability in this life.

5 - predestined - His intent sets in motion the reality of His choice.
- adoption - receiving the relationship of a child to the Father.
- according to - through the agency of.
- good pleasure - HIS satisfied delight and particular pleasure (of His plan).
* In Him - God is “pre-satisfied” and “delighted” in His plan of adopting us!

6 - to the praise of the glory of His grace - His grace chooses me.
* In Him - everyday grace living is worthy of praise.

- made us accepted in the Beloved (Jesus) - His grace accepts us, before we needed a Savior!
* In Him - He accepted us, before we made up the rules of acceptability.

7 - redemption - release from the captivity of Adam’s sin by payment.
- forgiveness of sins - release from the slavery of our sins.
- according to grace - the wealth, abundance, and preeminence of His grace through Jesus.
* In Him - The value of grace is recognized spiritually.

8 - abound to us - without reservation.
- wisdom - God’s expertise in the affairs of this life.
- prudence - God’s practical understanding in thinking and acting.
* In Him - God withholds nothing in relation to this life we live.

9 - made know to us - revealing by narration.
- mystery - something hidden until initiation (the act of adoption).
- good pleasure - kind intent and delight in.
- purposed - displayed publicly.
* In Him - God narrates His plan for us to publicly display.

10 - both in heaven and on earth - the whole of His creation, both seen and unseen.
* In Him - we are a display of His fullness on the earth and in heaven.
