Understanding God the Father
A Reminder of What We’ve Confirmed:

Now that we have confirmed the evidence for the existence of only ONE God, let’s find out more about the first person of the Trinity.
Biblical Evidence for God the Father

The Bible specifically and repeatedly addresses God the Father in scripture.

Jesus addressed God as His Father and THE Father.
Primary Attributes of the Father

He exists outside of space, time, and matter.
He is infinite and eternal.
He is the Creator.
He is unchanging / immutable.
He is omniscient (all-knowing).
He is omnipresent (everywhere).
He is omnipotent (all-powerful).
He examines the heart of man.
He dwells within believers.
He sanctifies us.
Why We Need a Father

We note the three distinct persons of the Trinity in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – why “Father” and not “mother” or another reference? Why are pastors and priests called “spiritual fathers”?

Note the following correlations between our Heavenly Father and earthly fathers.
A good father _____ the Lord.
A good father _____ the Lord and seeks righteousness.
A good father _____ others.
A good father _____ his wife.
