Calvary Church

Time
Main Idea: Many Progressive so-called Christians believe that theology should be constantly evolving, as our understanding of the world changes over time. In this message we want to see where this is a misuse of the time allotted to us.

Some progressive Christians will still say that Jesus is the ONLY way, but believe He will SAVE everyone.
Some progressive Christians view the Bible as a RECORD of what people believed about God in the times and places in which they lived, rather than the INSPIRED and authoritative Word of God.
In the Progressive paradigm, heaven and hell are words that describe our joys and sufferings HERE on EARTH. Heaven is the hope of an earthly future.
But Christians look forward to a future eternal home, isolated from EVIL and in the PRESENCE of God forever.

Biblical View of Time on Earth
A. WHO are we? We’re children of God and citizens of heaven who are foreigners in the Quad Cities.
B. WHERE are we? We live in a time that is passing away. This world and the things in it are not our aim. This world is temporary, but eternity is in our hearts.
C. WHY are we here? We’re here as ambassadors of Christ called to a world-wide mission of making disciples of all nations starting in the Quad Cities and reaching out to the rest of the world.
