Welcome to Element
We strive to ensure the biggest thing people think when they hear about Element is Jesus! We aim to glorify God by teaching and living out the Scriptures, transforming community into Gospel community, and planting churches.

1 Timothy - Doctrine Matters
Week 8 - Honor Others in the Gospel
Today Paul moves into how we live and honor one another in the body of Jesus. A proper doctrine—set of beliefs—honors those around us. Defining honor, in how Paul discusses, it would simply mean: ascribing worth through action.

When we live in real community we will struggle, we will hurt each other, and we will let each other down; it is not an excuse, but a reality. If the Church is a place that brings in people from all walks and stages of life, it only makes sense that we will all need to grow in many areas. When we seek to glorify God first, however, we will begin to make right those places we have dishonored one another. Proper doctrine in a church brings about a culture of honor.
How do we become an honor culture? We honor one another by ascribing worth through our actions. We give hope, prayer, and aid to one another. We will only truly honor each other when we remember that Jesus faced dishonor so we could be honored by God Himself. All the honor due to Him was given to us, more than we could ever imagine. By understanding the Gospel and honoring one another, we honor our Lord and Savior.
Discussion Questions-
• How have you seen the family of God honor one another?
• When have you felt honored/dishonored?
• Why is it important that the Church be multicultural and multi-generational?
• Who are the vulnerable in society you feel called to honor? How, as a community, can you support one another in this endeavor?
• How can you apply Paul’s specific cultural examples (e.g., widows, bondservants, etc.) to your life today?
• How can we show honor to one another this week?
