Paul says that there will be false teachers and you will recognize them because they will preach a different:

A different Spirit will have different purposes. Holy Spirit:
- Convicts of sin and Points to Jesus: John 16:8, John 15:26
- Assists in prayer: Jude 1:20
- Comforts and Fellowships with us: 1 Thessalonians 1:6
- Leads in Sanctification: Galatians 5:16-18, Philippians 1:6
- Gifts us: 1 Corinthians 12:4, Galatians 5:22-25
- Grants us: Godly Wisdom 1 Corinthians 2:10-13

There will also be a Different Gospel:
- Social Gospel- Tied to social movements rather than Jesus.
- Prosperity Gospel - Tied to God serving us, rather than us serving Him.
- Cheap Gospel - Makes light of sin and diminishes Christ’s work on the Cross.
- Works Based Gospel - Allows us to save ourselves.

What is the real Good News?
1. The gospel is of divine, not human, origin.
- You can’t save yourself.
- No other person/group/accomplishment can convey salvation to you.
- We are saved by grace, through faith, in Jesus.

2. There are two responses to the gospel: faith and obedience.
When we open ourselves to the Gospel, we believe in Christ to save us, receive Holy Spirit to guide us, and trust in God the Father to sustain us.
Authentic faith always leads to loving action.
The Gospel brings predictable results.
- Salvation (Rom. 1:16; Eph. 1:13).
- Kingdom mindedness (Matt. 4:23; 9:35, 24:14).
- Hope (Col. 1:23).
- Sanctification, we become more like Jesus! (Mark 8:35; 10:29; 2 Cor. 9:13; Eph. 6:15; Phil. 1:27).
- Salvation (Rom. 1:16; Eph. 1:13).
- Kingdom mindedness (Matt. 4:23; 9:35, 24:14).
- Hope (Col. 1:23).

We must love the truth, Jesus is the truth!
So what now?
God doesn’t warn us of The End to entertain us or to inspire us to buy more guns, build bunkers, or join a militia. Our hope must remain steadfastly in Jesus.
