This Week's Bulletin
Find out what's happening in the next couple of weeks!
https://sbcflint.org/this-weeks-bulletin/Was Pharaoh's heart hardened, or did God harden it?
Plague 1 (water to blood) - We are told that Pharaoh’s heart remained hardened and he did not take the plague to heart.
Plague 2 (frogs) - We are told that Pharaoh hardened his heart.
Plague 3 (gnats) - We are told that Pharaoh’s heart was hardened and he would not listen. In other words, he chose to keep his heart hardened.
Plague 4 (flies) - We are told that Pharaoh hardened his heart this time also.
Plague 5 (livestock die) - We are told that Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he did not let the people go. Again, this meant that he chose to keep his heart hardened. It’s only when we get to the sixth plague, after the five merciful opportunities that God gave Pharaoh to repent and he didn’t, that we start seeing the phrase “the Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh.”
He did this in order to accomplish His purpose.

Here we see God's awesome power at work in Protecting the Israelites. The pillar of cloud, that represented God’s presence, and that was going BEFORE the Israelites to LEAD them, now moved BEHIND them, between them and the Egyptian army, in order to PROTECT them.
