https://kearneyefree.com/giveWe have an example of how to RESPOND (in the spirit) and REACT (in the flesh) to rejection.
How do we RESPOND (in the Spirit) rather than REACT (in the flesh)?
1. We must FEAR GOD above anyone else. (alignment with God)
2. We must PREACH THE GOSPEL to ourselves daily (Remind ourselves who we are in Christ).
3. We must renew our minds and hearts in the SCRIPTURES and
PRAYER daily (spend time with Him).
PRAYER daily (spend time with Him).
When we do the preparation BEFORE we are rejected, we will RESPOND rather than REACT but if we wait until we are in the moment with no preparation we will react in the flesh.
LifeGroup & Discussion Questions
1. Read aloud Proverbs 29:25. Take a moment to read the passage again in silence, reflect, and write one observation.
2. What does this passage teach us about God and people?
3. What scriptures help you understand the text? (i.e., 1 Samuel 12:1-13:14 and 15:10-35; Proverbs 1:7, 3:5, 28:25-26; Jeremiah 17:1-18; Galatians 1:10)
4. Have a couple of lifegroup members briefly share a time or facet of life in which fear of a person(s) snared them. What holds you back or helps you move forward?
5. How does your fear or trust impact your temporary or eternal values and goals?
6. What resonated most from Linda's message? Why so?
7. Write down what God is impressing upon you to do in response to the passage or discussion. If so led, share a prayer request for being freed into God's safety.
For next week’s message: read and reflect on Proverbs 18:12.
