I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For
U2

I have climbed highest mountains
I have run through the fields
Only to be with you
Only to be with you
I have runI have crawled
I have scaled these city walls
These city walls
Only to be with you
But I still haven't found what I'm looking for
But I still haven't found what I'm looking for
We live with chronically unsatisfied desires. Like an itch that no matter how many times you scratch doesn’t go away. No matter how much we see, do, buy, sell, eat, drink, experience, visit, etc., we always want more.
John Mark Comer
Restlessness is the soundtrack of the modern soul.
Where does true satisfaction come from?
The Psalms are among the oldest poems in the world, and they still rank with any poetry in any culture, ancient or modern, from anywhere in the world. They are full of power and passion, horrendous misery and unrestrained jubilation, tender sensitivity and powerful hope. Anyone at all whose heart is open to new dimensions of human experience, anyone who loves good writing, anyone who wants a window into the bright lights and dark corners of the human soul-anyone open to the beautiful expression of a larger vision of reality should react to these poems like someone who hasn't had a good meal for a week or two. It's all here.
N.T. Wright
You have formed us for Yourself, and our hearts are restless till they find rest in You.
Augustine
You lead your people like a flock.
PSALM 77:20

We are the people, the sheep of Your pasture,
who will give thanks to You forever.
PSALM 78:13

Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel,
You that lead Joseph like a flock
PSALM 80:1

He is our God; we are the people
of His pasture and the sheep of His hand.
PSALM 95:7
Do you believe that when you die, you rot? That life in this world is all the happiness you will ever get? Do you believe that someday the sun is going to die and all human civilization is going to be gone, and nobody will remember anything anyone has ever done? That’s one way to imagine your future. But here’s another. Do you believe in “new heavens and new earth”? Do you believe in a Judgment Day when every evil deed and injustice will be redressed? Do you believe you are headed for a future of endless joy? Those are two utterly different futures, and depending on which one you believe, you are going to handle your suffering, in two utterly different ways.
