1 Timothy - Doctrine Matters
Week 3 - Praying for the Gospel
Doctrine is about what God has handed down to us—ultimately pointing to the good news of what Jesus did and is continuing to do. Proper doctrine will translate into how we live our lives, how we interact with others, how we worship God, and how we pray. Prayer is more than asking for things, but today we want to look at what we should be asking for:
• Healthy churches will pray for the advancement of the Gospel.
• God’s desires should be our prayers.

Prayer is more than asking for things, but today we want to look at what we should be asking for:
• Healthy churches will pray for the advancement of the Gospel.
• God’s desires should be our prayers.
We learn God’s desires by looking at the Scripture, understanding correct doctrine, and abiding in Jesus.
We pray for the Gospel to go out without hindrance, and we must also ask if our posture detracts from the Gospel going forward. We have the approval of the creator of the universe who has called us sons and daughters, our hindrances should begin to fade away because we find our identity in Christ.
• What in your life hinders your prayers?
• What in your life hinders the forward progress of the Gospel?
• What do you believe are God’s “desires?”
• Do you see/hear “missions” as something you are called to take part in?
• What would you say is THE priority in your life?
• In what specific area(s) of the world do you long to see the Gospel flourish?
Pray: For the nations and the advancement of the Gospel.
