Paul understood that his connection with other people contributed to maturing his joy:
1 Thessalonians 2:20, 3:9 – “You are our glory and joy... How can we thank God enough for you in return for all the joy we have in the presence of our God because of you?”
Philemon 7 - Your love has given me great joy and encouragement, because you, brother, have refreshed the hearts of the Lord’s people.”

John also understood this link:
3 John 4 – “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.”

How do we cooperate with love and joy being produced in our lives?
1. Check your heart.
2. Ask God for help. His fruit is real and will last and bring true fulfillment.
3. Choose love and joy before you feel them. (God will meet that effort!)
4. Engage with the family of God around you and invite the Holy Spirit to use these relationships as a training ground.
5. Seek the help you need.
