God makes direct promises to those who trust in Him:
i. I will purify. (v.9-10)
ii. I will leave a remnant. (v.11-13)
iii. The sorrows for the appointed feasts I will remove from you (3:18).
iv. I will deal with all who oppressed you (3:19a).
v. I will rescue the lame (3:19a).
vi. I will give them praise and honour (3:19, 20).
vii. I will gather you (3:19, 20).
viii. I will bring you home (3:20).
ix. I will restore your fortunes before your very eyes (3:20).

“Zephaniah’s vision of a home created by God (Zeph. 3:20), where His people are without lies or deceit (3:13), is an enduring vision with a trajectory in the New Testament. Jesus himself was without deceit and sin that we might die to sin and live for righteousness (Heb. 4:15; 1 Peter 2:22–25; cf. Isa. 53:9). His righteousness will also be found in those whose robes are washed in the blood of the Lamb at the judgment to come. Wrapped in the robes of Christ’s righteousness, they are welcomed home. “No lie was found in their mouths; they are blameless” (Rev. 14:5).”
