Psalm 119 | Ps. Josh Hersey (Summer In The Psalms)
(Psalm 119:1-6 NLT) Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the Lord. (2) Joyful are those who obey his laws and search for him with all their hearts. (3) They do not compromise with evil, and they walk only in his paths. (4) You have charged us to keep your commandments carefully. (5) Oh, that my actions would consistently reflect your decrees! (6) Then I will not be ashamed when I compare my life with your commands.
(Psalm 119:29 NLT) Keep me from lying to myself; give me the privilege of knowing your instructions.
(2 Timothy 3:16-17 NIV) All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, (17) so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Why the Bible can be trusted
1. It’s historically accurate.
(Psalm 33:4 NIV) For the word of the Lord is right and true; He is faithful in all He does.
2. It’s scientifically accurate.
(Psalm 148:5-6 NLT) Let every created thing give praise to the Lord, for He issued His command, and they came into being. (6) He set them in place forever and ever. His decree will never be revoked.
(Isaiah 40:22 NIV) He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth.
(Job 26:7 NIV) He spreads out the northern skies over empty space; He suspends the earth over nothing.
3. It’s prophetically accurate.
(100,000,000,000,000,000)
(2 Peter 1:21 NIV) For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
(Matthew 26:56a NLT) “But this is all happening to fulfill the words of the prophets as recorded in the Scriptures.”
4. It’s trusted by Jesus.
(Matthew 5:18 NIV) For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.
5. It has survived all attacks.
(1 Peter 1:24-25 NIV) … The grass withers and the flowers fall, (25) but the word of the Lord endures forever.
6. It has transforming power.
(John 8:31-32 NIV) … Jesus said, “If you hold to My teaching, you are really My disciples. (32) Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Get God’s Word in you by getting into God’s Word.
(Psalm 119:11 NLT) I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.
✔️ Read God’s word.
(Matthew 4:4 NIV) Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
✔️ Listen to God’s Word.
(Romans 10:17 NKJV) So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
✔️ Study God’s Word.
(Joshua 1:8 NLT) Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.
(Psalm 119:162 NLT) I rejoice in your word like one who discovers a great treasure.
