INTRO: The Purpose of Kingdom Sexuality

1. Kingdom Sexuality, God’s design for Sex and Marriage, is meant to reflect the Structural Unity of God (Oneness).

Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them” Genesis 1:26-27

3. Kingdom Sexuality, God’s design for Sex and Marriage, is for Procreation.

Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” Genesis 1:18


WORD POWER: “Sexual immorality” or fornication is porneia. “selling off” of sexual purity and involves any type of sexual expression outside the boundaries of a biblically defined marriage relationship.

ANALYSIS/APPLICATION:

1. Sexual Purity is possible in Christ!
Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God. Vs 9-11

A woman shall not wear anything that pertains to a man, nor shall a man put on a woman’s garment, for all who do so are an abomination to the Lord your God. Duet 22:5


2. Managing our Sexual Purity shows Maturity.
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any. 13 Foods for the stomach and the stomach for foods, but God will destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. 14 And God both raised up the Lord and will also raise us up by His power. Vs 12-14

Paul would later write in "I pray that you are all sanctified and that you're demonstrating that through abstaining from immorality.” 1 Thess 4:3

No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it 1 Corinthians. 10:13

3. Maintaining Oneness with the Lord should be our Goal.
Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a harlot? Certainly not! 16 Or do you not know that he who is joined to a harlot is one body with her? For “the two,” He says, “shall become one flesh.” 17 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him. Vs 15-17

4. Glorify God by keeping your Temple Holy.
Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s. Vs 18-20

“Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires” Romans 6:12
