The third element of spiritual warfare focuses on resisting the enemy. To resist is to stand against, to oppose with force, and to refuse to give up any ground.
Resisting begins with submitting to God. Humility creates a dependency upon God; submission releases divine authority and supernatural power.
We resist by speaking truth in the face of temptation. When you declare God’s word over Satan’s schemes, you break the power of the enemy.
We resist by rebuking the enemy. When you rebuke Satan and the schemes of the enemy against your life, you take authority over the enemy and enforce the victory of Jesus Christ.
We resist when we refuse to retreat. God honors your resistance with His victory.
