Opening Song
This is My Will

This is my will, my one command,
That love should dwell among you all.
This is my will, that you should love
As I have shown that I love you.

No greater love can any have
Than that one die to save his friends.
You are my friends if you obey
What I command that you should do.

I call you now no longer slaves;
No slave knows all the master does.
I call you friends, for all I hear
My Father say, you hear from me.

You chose not me, but I chose you,
That you should go and bear much fruit.
I chose you out that you in me
Should bear much fruit that will abide.

All that you ask my Father dear
For my name's sake you shall receive.
This is my will, my one command,
That love should dwell in each, in all.

Confession and Forgiveness
Dear Heavenly Father, we lower our heads before you and we confess that we have too often forgotten that we are yours. Sometimes we carry on our lives as if there was no God and we fall short of being a credible witness to You. For these things we ask your forgiveness and we also ask for your strength. Give us clear minds and open hearts so we may witness to You in our world. Remind us to be who You would have us to be regardless of what we are doing or who we are with. Hold us to You and build our relationship with You and with those You have given us on earth.

Lord have mercy, Christ have mercy, Lord have mercy.

*Confession is a time to share with God our sins, struggles, and mistakes. We are reminded by Jesus' words that through His death and resurrection, we are forgiven.

*The Kyrie, is an ancient prayer of the church Psalms (6:2, 9:13, 31:9, 86:3, 123:3) Matt (15:22, 17:15., 20:30) Luke 17:13
Nicene Creed
I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth and of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only‐begotten Son of God, begotten of His Father before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God, begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made; who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate. He suffered and was buried. And the third day He rose again according to the Scriptures and ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of the Father. And He will come again with glory to judge both the living and the dead, whose kingdom will have no end.
And I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified, who spoke by the prophets. And I believe in one holy Christian and apostolic Church I acknowledge one Baptism for the remission of sins, and I look for the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.

*At South Lake we speak together creeds. Creeds are used by the church to share our belief in who our God is; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Apostles’ Creed dates back to the Old Roman Baptismal Creed.
• Prayer of the Day
Gracious God, as You promised through the prophet Joel, pour out Your Spirit upon us, that our sons and daughters may prophesy, our old men dream dreams, and our young men see visions[^1^][1]. May a thousand tongues rise in harmony, singing of Your redemptive grace, echoing the triumphs of Your love as revealed in Your Son, Jesus Christ.
Prayer of the Day
Heavenly Father, who restored Peter beside the sea of Galilee, restore us too amidst our failings. Your love, deeper than the ocean, lifts us from despair to grace, as You turned Peter's denial into a proclamation of faith. May we, like Peter, embrace Your redemptive call, to love and feed Your sheep in the boundless pasture of Your mercy. Amen.

Oh For a Thousand Tongues to Sing

Verse 1
Oh for a thousand tongues to sing
my great Redeemer's praise
The glories of my God and King,
the triumphs of His grace
My gracious Master and my God
assist me to proclaim
To spread through all the earth
abroad the honors of Thy name

Chorus 1
So come on and sing out,
let our anthem grow loud
There is one great love Jesus

Verse 2
Jesus the name that charms our fears
that bids our sorrows cease
'Tis music in the sinner's ears,
'Tis life and health and peace
He breaks the pow'r of canceled sin,
He sets the pris'ner free
His blood can make the foulest clean,
His blood availed for me
?Chorus 2
So come on and sing out,
let our anthem grow loud
There is one great love,
there is one great love Jesus

Verse 3
He speaks and list'ning to His voice
new life the dead receive
The mournful broken hearts rejoice,
the humble poor believe
Glory to God and praise
and love be ever ever giv'n
By saints below and saints above
the church in earth and heav'n

Chorus 1
So come on and sing out,
let our anthem grow loud
There is one great love Jesus

Chorus 1
So come on and sing out,
let our anthem grow loud
There is one great love Jesus

Chorus 1
So come on and sing out,
let our anthem grow loud
There is one great love Jesus

Message/Teaching
Pentecost

Joel 2:28–32
The LORD Will Pour Out His Spirit
28 “And it shall come to pass afterward,
that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your old men shall dream dreams,
and your young men shall see visions.
29 Even on the male and female servants
in those days I will pour out my Spirit.

30 “And I will show wonders in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and columns of smoke. 31 The sun shall be turned to darkness, and the moon to blood, before the great and awesome day of the LORD comes. 32 And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be those who escape, as the LORD has said, and among the survivors shall be those whom the LORD calls.
The Holy Bible: English Standard Version (Wheaton, IL: Crossway Bibles, 2016), Joe 2:28–32.

Pentecost - Joel 2:28–32

Engage in a personal relationship with Jesus.
Acts 2:14-16
14 But Peter, standing with the eleven, lifted up his voice and addressed them: “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and give ear to my words. 15 For these people are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day. 16 But this is what was uttered through the prophet Joel….

Joel 3:17–21
17 “So you shall know that I am the LORD your God,
who dwells in Zion, my holy mountain.
And Jerusalem shall be holy,
and strangers shall never again pass through it.
18 “And in that day
the mountains shall drip sweet wine,
and the hills shall flow with milk,
and all the streambeds of Judah
shall flow with water;
and a fountain shall come forth from the house of the LORD
and water the Valley of Shittim.
19 “Egypt shall become a desolation
and Edom a desolate wilderness,
for the violence done to the people of Judah,
because they have shed innocent blood in their land.
20 But Judah shall be inhabited forever,
and Jerusalem to all generations.
21 I will avenge their blood,
blood I have not avenged,
for the LORD dwells in Zion.”

• Prayers/Lord’s Prayer •

Lord’s Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven; give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. • Closing Song •
If We Are The Body

Verse 1
It's crowded in worship today as she slips in, trying to fade into the faces
The girls teasing laughter is carrying farther than they know
Farther than they know

Chorus
But if we are the body why aren't His arms reaching
Why aren't His hands healing why aren't His words teaching
And if we are the body why aren't His feet going
Why is His love not showing them there is a way, there is a way

Verse 2
A traveler is far away from home ,He sheds his coat, and quietly sinks
Into the back row
The weight of their judgmental glances tells him that his chances
Are better out on the road

Chorus
But if we are the body why aren't His arms reaching
Why aren't His hands healing why aren't His words teaching
And if we are the body why aren't His feet going
Why is His love not showing them there is a way, there is a way

Bridge
Jesus paid much too high a price
For us to pick and choose who should come
And we are the body of Christ

Chorus
But if we are the body why aren't His arms reaching
Why aren't His hands healing why aren't His words teaching
And if we are the body why aren't His feet going
Why is His love not showing them there is a way, there is a way

Chorus
But if we are the body why aren't His arms reaching
Why aren't His hands healing why aren't His words teaching
And if we are the body why aren't His feet going
Why is His love not showing them there is a way, there is a way
