GROWTH GROUP / PERSONAL REFLECTION QUESTIONS

1. In regard to the persistent widow, how does this story challenge your understanding of prayer? How might it reflect God's character in response to prayer?

2. How does the unjust judge's character contrast with God's character? Does this change how you might reflect God's character in response to prayer?

3. What can you do to persevere in prayer when it seems like you're not getting the response you want?

4. What do the prayers of the pharisee and the tax collector reveal about their understanding of themselves and their relationship with God?

5. In what ways might we see the attitudes of the pharisee and the tax collector reflected in our contemporary communities and/or culture?

6. The humility of the tax collector sends him home as justified. Where in your life does humility need to be fostered and arrogance managed?

7. What does the parable of the tax collector and the pharisee teach us about prayer?

hey

Our Annual Congregational Meeting will take in between services on Sunday, June 2nd. The purpose of this meeting is to elect officers, approve pastoral terms of call, and amend the StoneBridge by-laws.

Every month, CCT members write and send care cards, phone and support church members, and/or visit and pray with those in need of encouragement. Occasionally, they may join a deacon to serve home communion. Personal time commitment is 1-4 hours a month. If you’re gifted with a compassion for others, the Congregational Care Team is a great fit for you. Learn more by contacting the church office letting us know you're interested.

We encourage you to use Facebook, Instagram, and other social media to share images, quotes, links, or what you've learned from this week's message and YouVersion message notes. Social media can also be a great way of inviting your friends to worship and special events.
