“Can you recall a specific moment when I did something really stupid?”
We All Need Wisdom.
“Where do I need God's wisdom for my life?
Wisdom is the prayerful, patient and outcome approach to decision making for the GOOD of ourselves and of others that honors and reverences God.
But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. Such “wisdom” does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.
“Worldly Wisdom”
EMOTIONS.

DESIRES.

OPTICS.
“He who has set his heart exclusively upon the pursuit of worldly welfare is always in a hurry for he has but a limited time at his disposal to reach, to grasp, to enjoy”
-Alexis Tocqueville
GODLY WISDOM
PURE: There are no selfish motives… No ungodly motivations
PEACE-LOVING: Godly wisdom strives to resolve conflict
CONSIDERATE: Reasonable in the demands of others
SUBMISSIVE: Not rigid but willing to listen and skilled in knowing when wisely to yield
FULL OF MERCY: Mercy always has its eyes open to the needs of others
GOOD FRUIT: The litmus test of your life is what is being produced. And if your life choices produce BAD fruit (non flourishing, not growing), it is not Godly wisdom.
IMPARTIAL: You love everyone the same
SINCERE: It is genuine
“I was a Christian for 22 years. But instead of being a 22 year old Christian, I was a 1 year old Christian 22 times. I just kept doing the same things, over and over and over again.”
-Peter Scazzerro
ASKING
The WISDOM I need in the Public Space will only be found in the Private Place
PURSUING
“God, what is the wisest path for me today?
Who are you FOLLOWING?
What are you TRUSTING?
“To bring his point home, God shows us a man who gave his life away to the extent of dying a national disgrace without a penny in the bank or a friend to his name. In terms of human wisdom, he (Jesus) was a Perfect Fool, and anybody who thinks they can follow him without being something like the same kind of a fool of himself is laboring under not a cross, but a delusion.”

Wishful Thinking, Fredrick Buechner
