Ephesians 3:16-21 NLT I pray that from His glorious, unlimited resources He will empower you with inner strength through His Spirit. 17 Then Christ will make His home in your hearts as you trust in Him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. 18 And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love is. 19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

This kind of access to God and intimacy with Him is not possible without the Ministry of the Holy Spirit, which begins in the Book of Acts.
Quick Summary of Acts so Far

Acts 1: Jesus says “...you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Acts 2: We see God make all 3 of the main points of Acts 1:8 come to pass.

Acts 2:12: The people ask a good question: “What does this mean?"

Acts 3:1-11 NLT Peter and John went to the Temple one afternoon to take part in the three o’clock prayer service. 2 As they approached the Temple, a man lame from birth was being carried in. Each day he was put beside the Temple gate, the one called the Beautiful Gate, so he could beg from the people going into the Temple. 3 When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for some money. 4 Peter and John looked at him intently, and Peter said, “Look at us!” 5 The lame man looked at them eagerly, expecting some money. 6 But Peter said, “I don’t have any silver or gold for you. But I’ll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!” 7 Then Peter took the lame man by the right hand and helped him up. And as he did, the man’s feet and ankles were instantly healed and strengthened. 8 He jumped up, stood on his feet, and began to walk! Then, walking, leaping, and praising God, he went into the Temple with them. 9 All the people saw him walking and heard him praising God. 10 When they realized he was the lame beggar they had seen so often at the Beautiful Gate, they were absolutely astounded! 11 They all rushed out in amazement to Solomon’s Colonnade, where the man was holding tightly to Peter and John.
“Look at Us” (v 4-7)
- Our confidence is in Him.
- Our default should be to direct others to the Light
Encounters with God’s Presence Produce:
- Strength and Healing (v. 7)
- Joy, Wholeness, and Praise (v. 8)
- An attraction to God and to the Things of God (v. 8)
- A noticeable Life-Change (v. 9-11)
- A sense of Gratitude (v. 11)
Acts 3:12-13 NLT Peter saw his opportunity and addressed the crowd. “People of Israel,” he said, “what is so surprising about this? And why stare at us as though we had made this man walk by our own power or godliness? 13 For it is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—the God of all our ancestors—who has brought glory to his servant Jesus by doing this.
When the Holy Spirit does something, it is for two distinct purposes:
1. Personal Restoration
2. Collective Awakening
Acts 3 is a demonstration of living in response to the Holy Spirit

- Responding to the Spirit leading us to the one (the individual)
- Responding to the opportunity, created by the Spirit, to point people to the One (the Lord of all)
The Holy Spirit creates and transforms, so that Jesus can be glorified, and people can come to know God through Him.
Living in Response to the Holy Spirit

- WALK Slowly through the Room (v. 2-4)

- WELCOME the Holy Spirit (v. 6-8)

- WATCH for Open Doors (v. 12)
