The New Testament church was made up of people once openly hostile to one another sharing a common binding agent, Jesus Christ.
All of our individual responses to Jesus are best experience and expressed in a community of believers called the church.
The life God intended each person to live is:
Ā· best expressed through love for God with your all
Ā· best demonstrated through love for neighbor as yourself
Ā· best experienced through relationships (w/God & others)
You were made to be here.
You were made to belong here.
You were made to be welcomed home here.
The big āCā Church: universal, all believers, in all places, at all times.
The little ācā church: local; where youāre known, loved, cared for, plugged in
Romans 12:4-5
1 Corinthians 12:27
Here (at MCFC) you should be able to find a group of people whose love and care will reach from this place into the rest of your life.
Ephesians 2:17-18
For those who had no relationship with God, in Jesus, we become sons and daughters of the Ruler of the universe.
Ephesians 2:19
Each of us must come to God through a personal faithā¦but once in that relationship, weāre a part of His family.
Ephesians 2:20-22
Jesus is the reason the church exists, the One who connects us all together.
The church often functions best when its members set aside differences, sacrifice personal comforts, and work together to fulfill its call.
Ephesians 4:1-2
Living a life worthy of our calling means that our actions ought to equal what we profess.
How are we to treat other followers of Christ? (From Ephesians 4:2):
Ā· Humility
Ā· Gentleness
Ā· Patience
Ā· Bearing with one another
Ā· In Love
Ephesians 4:3
Weāre to make every effort, to strive with determination in overcoming any obstacles threatening the unity of the church.
The common denominator of any action that interrupts unity in the church is selfishness that runs counter to the work of the Holy Spirit that leads to selflessness.
Ephesians 4:4-6
Our longing for community is a part of that God image we were created with.
The weight of our own burdens can lighten when we learn weāre not alone in them and that others can help us bear them.

John 17:20-23
In the midst of our differences and uniqueness, we can be unified in love for Him.
This is my church.
It will be welcoming if I am welcoming.
It will be friendly if I am friendly.
It will be intentional if I am intentional.
It will do a great work if I am willing to work.
It will be generous if I am generous.
It will be active if I am active.
It will bring others to Christ if I bring them.
It will share the hope of Jesus if I share hope of Jesus.
It will be filled with love if I am loving.
With Godās help, I dedicate myself to being all these things I want my church to be.
