Confession and Forgiveness
Most merciful God, we confess that we are by nature sinful and unclean. We have sinned against You in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done and by what we have left undone. We have not loved You with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We justly deserve Your present and eternal punishment. For the sake of Your Son, Jesus Christ, have mercy on us. Forgive us, renew us, and lead us, so that we may delight in Your will and walk in Your ways to the glory of Your holy name. Amen.

Lord have mercy, Christ have mercy, Lord have mercy.

*Confession is a time to share with God our sins, struggles, and mistakes. We are reminded by Jesus' words that through His death and resurrection, we are forgiven.

*The Kyrie, is an ancient prayer of the church Psalms (6:2, 9:13, 31:9, 86:3, 123:3) Matt (15:22, 17:15., 20:30) Luke 17:13
Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

*At South Lake we speak together creeds. Creeds are used by the church to share our belief in who our God is; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Apostles’ Creed dates back to the Old Roman Baptismal Creed.
• Prayer of the Day •

Heavenly Father, in the depths of our despair, when our nets come up empty and our spirits are weary, remind us of the dawn at the Sea of Galilee, where Your presence turned hopelessness into hope for Your Will, will be done. In Jesus Name, Amen

Message Song •
Be still, my soul; the Lord is on your side;
Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain;
Leave to your God
to order and provide;
In ev'ry change He faithful will remain.
Be still, my soul; your best,
your heav'nly Friend
Through thorny ways
leads to a joyful end.

Be still, my soul; your God will undertake
To guide the future as He has the past.
Your hope, your confidence
let nothing shake;
All now mysterious shall be bright at last.
Be still, my soul; the waves
and winds still know
His voice who ruled them
while He dwelt below.
Be still, my soul,
though dearest friends depart
And all is darkened in the vale of tears;
Then you will better know
His love, His heart,
Who comes to soothe
your sorrows and your fears.
Be still, my soul; your Jesus can repay
From His own fulness all He takes away.

Be still, my soul; the hour is hast'ning on
When we shall be forever with the Lord,
When disappointment, grief,
and fear are gone,
Sorrow forgot,
love's purest joys restored.
Be still, my soul;
when change and tears are past,
All safe and blessed
we shall meet at last.

Be Still, My Soul (In You I Rest)

Message/Teaching
Hopelessness Turned to Hope

John 20:19-23
Jesus Appears to the Disciples
19 On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, the doors being locked where the disciples were for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.” 20 When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord. 21 Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.” 22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. 23 If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you withhold forgiveness from any, it is withheld.”

The Holy Bible: English Standard Version (Wheaton, IL: Crossway Bibles, 2016), Jn 20:19–23.

Hopelessness Turned to Hope – John 21:1-14
Engage in a personal relationship with Jesus.

Matt. 28:7
7 Then go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and behold, he is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him. See, I have told you.”

Luke 5:1-10
On one occasion, while the crowd was pressing in on him to hear the word of God, he was standing by the lake of Gennesaret, 2 and he saw two boats by the lake, but the fishermen had gone out of them and were washing their nets. 3 Getting into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, he asked him to put out a little from the land. And he sat down and taught the people from the boat. 4 And when he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” 5 And Simon answered, “Master, we toiled all night and took nothing! But at your word I will let down the nets.” 6 And when they had done this, they enclosed a large number of fish, and their nets were breaking. 7 They signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink. 8 But when Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord.” 9 For he and all who were with him were astonished at the catch of fish that they had taken, 10 and so also were James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid; from now on you will be catching men.”
