2. Get your way ... always.
3. Dwell on what's wrong.
4. Avoid conflict.

We assume that if we ignore the conflict, it will go away.

The opposite of avoiding conflict is not addressing conflict, it’s resolving conflict and restoring the relationship

LESSON #1
If you want your relationship to die, run away from conflict.
If you want your relationship to survive, run towards the conflict.

LESSON #2
If you want your relationship to die, make assumptions, make excuses, and blame others.
If you want your relationship to survive, ask questions.

LESSON #3
If you want your relationship to die, hide the truth or your true feeling.
If you want your relationship to survive, expose the truth.

Relationships built on coverups do not last.

LESSON #4
If you want your relationship to die, pretend nothing happened and go back to normal.
If you want your relationship to survive, hold to clear boundaries and consequences.

LESSON #5
If you want your relationship to die, say you forgive them but continue resenting them or working against them.
If you want your relationship to survive, demonstrate love and grace.

The relationship may never change but you will. The relationship may never be healed, but you can be.

In the midst of the conflict you are in, are you becoming more like Jesus?
