3 Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. 4 Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. 5 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, 6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.

Lie - If we want to be happy and prosper, we must promote ourselves.

Truth - My attitude should be the same as Jesus - thinking of others.

5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:

6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;7 rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.8

morphē theou. “Morphē always signifies a form which truly and fully expresses the being which underlies it”.

Lie - Service is not for everyone.

Truth - A life centered around Jesus demands service to others.

And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!

Hosea 6:6 reads, “For I desire steadfast love and not sacrifice, the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings.

Lie - It doesn’t matter why I serve.

Truth - Why we serve is all that matters.

Isaiah 53
You had no beauty or majesty to attract us to you, nothing in your appearance that we should desire you.3 you were despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain Like one from whom people hide their faces, you were despised, and we held you in low esteem.4 Surely you took up our pain and bore our suffering ,yet we considered you punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted.
5 But you were pierced for our transgressions, you were crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on you, and by your wounds we are healed.
6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on you, the iniquity of us all. 7 You were oppressed and afflicted, yet you did not open Your mouth; you were led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, you did not open your mouth. 8 By oppression and judgment you were taken away. Yet who of your generation protested? For you were cut off from the land of the living: for the transgression of my people, you were punished. 9 You were assigned a grave with the wicked, and with the rich in your death, though you had done no violence, nor was any deceit in your mouth. 10 Yet it was the Lord’s will to crush you and cause you to suffer, and though the Lord makes your life an offering for sin…11 You are truly a righteous servant & will justify many, and you will bear my iniquities.
