Is it also running low? Because there’s an important link between your relationship with God and your relationship with the government.

• Identify the character qualities of a candidate you would support.
• Identify the critical political positions of a candidate you would support.
• When voting between the “less of two evils,” don’t tie your reputation to a
candidate you identify as “evil.”
• Be revolutionary.
Group Questions
1. What emotions or reactions do you typically experience when discussing politics? Why do you think politics can evoke such strong feelings in people?

2. Think about the five political parties in Jesus' time. Which party do you think Jesus aligned with, if any? Why or why not?

3. In what ways can political engagement be a form of living out our faith?
Conversely, how can it sometimes distract us from our faith?

4. What does it mean to be “revolutionary” in the context of Jesus' teachings? How can we embody the values of the Kingdom of God in our political engagement?

5. How did you react to the “Practically Speaking” part of the sermon?

6. This year, how can we navigate the tension between politics and maintaining our
primary allegiance to Jesus?
