1 John 3:11-3:24

Main Point
Be like Jesus by loving his church

Text
This is the message you have heard from the beginning (3:11)
We should love one another

Don’t be like Cain (3:12)
Of the evil one - Laid his brother down for himself

Don’t be surprised by hatred (3:13)
Children of darkness one have always hated children of light

Do be like Jesus (3:16)
The only begotten of the Father - Laid down his life for his brothers

Do love in deed and truth (3:18)
Our vocabulary must be integrated with our vocation
If we have the ability and the opporunity but fail in our delivery
we have not loved as God has loved.

Do be assured (3:19-22)
When our hearts condemn us, God is greater than our hearts (v.20)
When our hearts don’t condemn us, we have confidence (v.21)

This is His commandment (3:23)
That we believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ
That we love one another

Whoever keeps his commandments (3:24)
Abides in God
God abides in him
Sealed by the Spirit
