The reason - _______________
The means - _______________
The sacrifice - __________________

3. The MYSTERY of being born again (4-10)
4. The MEANS to be born again (11-16)
Home Group/Study Questions
These questions are provided for your further study and application of today’s sermon. Thoughtfully writing out the answers to these questions will help to drive home the truths we are learning.

1. Was there any passage of scripture or statement in the message today that was particularly meaningful or applicable to you?

2. Read Exodus 34:6-7. How does God describe Himself? The foundational truth of Scripture is that God is, and that He is holy, and that we will face Him one day.

3. Read Romans 12:5, 19 and Ephesians 2:1-3. How would you respond to someone who says they are good enough and that they don’t need to be “born again?” Write down ways you have sinned today in the space below.

4. Read Proverbs 24:24-25. What kind of judge would God be if he just declared the wicked to be innocent? How can God be holy and just, and forgive sinful people?

5. Read 2 Corinthians 5:18-21. What does this passage say about how God forgives the guilty?

6. Read John 2:23-25. What kind of “belief” did the “many” have in this passage? Now read John 3:15-16. What kind of “belief” is called for here? Think for a moment: are you truly a believer, or are you just “following the rules” like Nicodemus?

7. Write in the blank space below: what does salvation mean for you?

Giving Online

Giving cheerfully and sacrificially of our finances is part of our worship. (2 Corinthians 9:7; Proverbs 3:9; Malachi 3:10) We thank those who have helped us fulfill our mission and vision, and we ask you to pray that all of the giving to West End Baptist Church would be used to glorify God in carrying out His will as Scripture instructs and the Holy Spirit leads.
